Memories of Oahu

Just thought I’d post a few of my own North Shore family memories up here, as a nice little companion to Aaron & Vicky’s Honeymoon session. 🙂

Mokule’ia, North Shore of Oahu, 1988.

Setting up our little big top tent…

Above, my Mom and brother taking a look around out in the blue. I’m pretty sure she took the majority of these old photos too. Great work if I may say so! 🙂

Below, myself showing off an expert dog paddle technique…
Above: I miss my beach naps!

Below: The cousins and I playing in our uncle’s little metal boat, which was heading out to sea a couple pics above…Fast forward to August of 2006, which would be the last time my family and I camped there together — staying the night is now prohibited, sadly.

Interestingly, this was also when I really dug in with my first digital camera, which I had received as a late Christmas present a few months prior.

These days, I don’t get to come back here very often, and when I do, it’s only for a few hours at most. But everytime I step onto the sand dunes and jump into the ocean, I’m transported right back to 1988. I become a kid again. Carefree, completely happy. It’s a reminder of just how close to my heart this place is, and how lucky I am to have spent so much time there with my family.

Thank you for letting me share it with you here. 🙂
